The active ingredient of silicea Gel for the gastrointestinal system is silica gel (silicic acid gel), a compound made up of the mineral silicon with oxygen and water. Silica gel has an unusually high bonding capacity for pathogens and their toxins, binding them in the gastrointestinal tract and excreting them naturally. It soothes symptoms and supports the regeneration of the upset gastrointestinal tract, also reducing annoying flatulence. It can be used for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) if two of the following symptoms persist for more than three months: abdominal bloating, cramping abdominal pains, diarrhea, constipation, or sensation of incomplete evacuation following a bowel movement.
