Absolute Aromas May Chang Oil

May Chang essential oil is a comparatively new essential oil to the West, steam-distilled from the pepper-shaped fruits (Cubeba) of a tropical tree. It has a strong lemon odor dominated by Citral (75%), similar to Lemongrass but with a rounder and more fruity aroma. It is used for isolation of Citral for lemon flavors and perfumery materials, as well as Vitamin A. May Chang is excellent as a room deodorizer and insect repellent. For oily or problem skin, it can be added to skin cleansing products to boost astringent and anti-bacterial properties (not suitable for sensitive skin).
