Viridian’s Organic Raw Coconut Oil is a premium quality product handmade in the Philippines using traditional methods. The coconuts are hand selected, using good quality and mature, fresh whole coconuts. The nuts are then shelled, and the meat is passed through a cold press expeller, the oil is collected, and water removed. The oil is further filtered to produce a polished water-free, high-quality, organic coconut oil. This process maintains the natural elements of the coconut and is referred to as ‘virgin’. Non-virgin and non-organic coconut oils may include processes such as refinement, alongside bleaching and deodorizing. All coconuts are sourced from within a 100km radius of the factory, ensuring optimum freshness and local jobs while lessening environmental impact. Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and melts at around 25 degrees. It is translucent white when solid and clear when melted, with a slight nutty aroma and sweet and salty taste. It is rich in medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), comprising of 9 MCTs that total 93% volume. Traditional use of coconut was as an Indian Ayurvedic medicinal food, and it can be used in various ways including topical application, eating as a solid fat, and baking and cooking. It contains 100% active ingredients formulated by expert nutritionists with no artificial fillers and no nasties.
